Usb_modeswitch 4G/LTE Telekom LTE Speedstick 2
-
Hi folks,
I have a brand new 4G USB Stick "Telekom Speedstick 2" which is a Alcatel / TCT L100v, using Qualcomm MDM9200The stick is switching by ejcting the virtual CD-Rom device.
I have managed to switch from 0x1bbb:0xf017 (cdrom) to 01x1bbb:0x011e (usbmodem) using usb_modeswitch port for Freebsd.
usb_modeswitch -v 0x1bbb -p 0xf017 -M 55534243123456788000000080000606f50402527000000000000000000000
usbconfig -d ugen1.2 dump_device_desc ugen1.2: <mobile broad="" band="" usbmodem="">at usbus1, cfg=0 md=HOST spd=HIGH (480Mbps) pwr=ON bLength = 0x0012 bDescriptorType = 0x0001 bcdUSB = 0x0200 bDeviceClass = 0x0000 bDeviceSubClass = 0x0000 bDeviceProtocol = 0x0000 bMaxPacketSize0 = 0x0040 idVendor = 0x1bbb idProduct = 0x011e bcdDevice = 0x0000 iManufacturer = 0x0003 <usbmodem>iProduct = 0x0002 <mobile broad="" band="">iSerialNumber = 0x0000 <no string="">bNumConfigurations = 0x0001</no></mobile></usbmodem></mobile>
But still there is no device in PPP interface settings available
can anyone help?
I am using pfsense 2.0.2

Some 4G modems have an Ethernet like USB interface because that provides a lower overhead interface into the kernel than the "tty" interface previously used.
-
Unfortunately, there is also no new ethernet interface available after connecting/switching the webstick.
Any other ideas?
May pfsense 2.1 bring me closer to a solution?

Please post the output of pfSense shell commanda```
usbconfig show_ifdrv
usbconfig dump_device_desc -
As I am not the Linux/BSD guru… May this help somehow?

Yes, helpful in terms of showing there is an opensource driver for Linux for that device.
Edit: In a few minutes googling I failed to find any evidence of support for this device in FreeBSD or evidence of a port of the Linux qmi_wwan driver to FreeBSD.
