Axiomtek MANO831

Duel core Atom Cedarview D2550 1.86 GHz MB. With two Realtek RTL8111E Gigabit ports and a 10w TDP makes it a good low powered MB. That is if you don't want a faster 65w TDP solution.

What's the price?
-
Looks like a Compact Flash slot on the bottom which would be nice running Nano but I can't find it mentioned anywhere.
Also has a funky DC power connector so you can't use an existing PSU.Steve

Unless the price is really good I see no reason to choose this instead of the D2500CCE.

It's 1.65x faster @ 674 speed units vs 409. But a Intel NUC is 2268 units and a $100 i3-3220 is 4267 units :-)
Because of the internal 4pin molex connector, my guess is a 12v DC source is required. Most laptops, Intel NUC & dq77kb and Shuttle DS61 all use 19V DC wall warts.
-
The 4 pin molex is to provide power to a sata drive which would otherwise normally be powered directly from the psu.
Most dc powered boards like this use a fairly standard 2.1mm barrel connector so you can use an old laptop psu (assuming the voltage is correct). This board uses s different connector so you'd have to either get a matching psu or some sort of adapter.Steve

I have seen that benchmark but there are other factors, at least for me.
1 - Where can I find it? We don't even know the price.
2 - The use a 4 pin power connector mean to handle high currents, so the matching PSU must be huge and expensive.
3 - Despite Realtek new chips being better than previous crap I still prefer Intel.
4 - pFsense is not optimized for multithreading, that 165% performance jump doesn't apply for every scenario.edit

Indeed. The increased benchmark score of the D2550 over the D2500 is due to the former supporting hyper-threading. Not necessarily any advantage in pfSense.
This board doesn't beat the Jetway NF9HQL-525 in my opinion. The older D525 actaully benchmarks faster. It's expensive though.
