Wrong route for gateway break pfSense
-
Hi,
I entered a wrong netmask to the route of my default gateway (GW_WAN ) and now pfSense can't be reached over IP anymore.
I'd never take care about the backend of pfSense - can I edit there using the console and delete the settings I did to make it work again?
Where can I find config data for pfSense Gateway route?Hope you can help me to solve the problem …
Thanks
Andre

You can change the basic network parameters via the console. If you run pfSense on standard hardware, simply attach a monitor and a keyboard. You'll see a menu where everything will be obvious.
Headless heardware (like the WRAP) often has a serial console, which can be used as well.

Yes Klaws this is for sure an option to use the console by keyboard and monitor.
But what to do there?
Just change the IP settings and the wrong route won't work anymore may work. But also a nice solution would editing the wrong settings there - is this possible and how to do?

Are automatic updates are done also with v2?
I read this and seems to could solve my problem:

Just change the IP settings and the wrong route won't work anymore may work.On the console, start the shell (that's option 8, I think).
In the shell, enter the command
vi /conf/config.xml
Correct the gateway in the config. Reboot pfSense.
I assume you know how to edit using vi…right?

You can just copy the last good config from /cf/conf/backups/ to /cf/conf/config.xml and reboot.
