PFSense hardware for sale cheap
-
Not sure if this is allowed but I figure I'll give it a shot as we're not looking to profit from this but to recoup a bit of $$$ and not throw good hardware in the recycler!
We have 10 supermicro based systems that have been running pfSense 2.0.x for quite some time. We have moved to virtual machines since each of these locations now have a ESXi cluster.
Run down:
Supermicro system: http://www.supermicro.com/products/system/1U/5016/SYS-5016I-MR.cfm?IPMI=N
Intel X3470 CPU (2.93Ghz quad core)
2*4GB ECC RAM compatible with the above
40GB Intel SSD X25V
RailsThese boards have dual 82574L Intel NIC's which do well under pfSense, as well as one expansion slot for another NIC to be added if desired.
We're asking $150/system plus shipping, or a pair for $250.
If this is not allowed please delete and yell and scream at me.
Thanks
JW

If your specs are correct, and consistent throughout every unit you have for sale, you are giving one hell of a discounted rate – something like 75-80% off what you could get parting them out and selling them on ebay. If the specs are correct and you still have some available I would also be interested in grabbing one or two, excellent deal indeed.

Hi everyone - sorry for the delay getting you quotes - shipped has been out sick and I've been swamped so no change to get that sorted out. She should be back tomorrow.
Also s of now, all systems are gone if those of you who have committed take them. I will certainly update this thread if any become available.
Thanks!
John

I wanted to see if anyone of the buyers could spare a system for me so that I could buy it from the seller. I am looking for 2 of these systems for a local non-profit community supporting dislocated orphan children. They are desperately looking to replace their antiquated and dying PIII systems but don't have much budget to do anything. I am giving them a helping hand and trying to see if I can get a system like the one sold in this post.
Your generosity for this cause could go a long way.

Hey JW, any updates on this? Thanks!

I believe he found another means of sale. I was first to reply and never got a response after March 20th.
