Autoselect boot option 2 and 3 (no acpi / usb)
-
Hi all,
yesterday i've started using pfSense 2.0 (memstick i386 image) on a HP t5700 thin client (TM5800 1Ghz CPU / 512 MB ram),there's no monitior/keyboard attached.
The image is installed on a usb flash drive so i have to select boot option 3 at boot in order to be able to save my config,i also have to disable acpi.
I know how to disable acpi automaticly at boot (by editing a conf file) but i'm wondering if it's possible to autoselect usb install the same way? Thanks.

Yes, check the doc wiki under boot troubleshooting, it tells there how to set the same option (it's just a boot delay, really, not specific to USB but helps USB booting)

Hi,
i've already checked that doc.
Apperantly i misunderstood the usb boot option,i thought it did more then just create a delay.
Thanks for clearing that out.
I still have a problem,i'm unable to save the modified loader.conf file, saving the config also doesn't work.
I'm trying to modify the loader.conf file with the build in file editor in the WebGUI,this works on my freenas-box (which also runs freebsd and boots from usb) but doesn't work with pfSense.
Any ideas?Thanks.

Edit /boot/loader.conf.local - do not use loader.conf
