PfSense Deployment Success Story

Just completed dumping an old ASA 5510 in favor of two beefed up pfSense servers! ;D
Ahh, the money I saved using pfSense allowed me to buy this….
2 Lenovo RD430 3064-G2U 2U Rack Servers with
2 2 X Intel Xeon E5-2407 Quad Core
40 Gigabytes of RAM
10 Network Ports (2 onboard, 2 quad cards)
Redundant Power Supplies
2 X 3.5” Hot-Swap 15,000 RPM 300 Gigabyte Hard Drive(Overkill? The cost was still half that of the competition!)
Both servers are using pfSense in a high availability configuration.

PowerfulThis is a huge improvement over the ASA that I was using!

Overkill? The cost was still half that of the competition!
Ha! When I read that spec list I'm thinking 'you could probably get away with a lot less than this' but if it's still costing half the price, why not. :)
Could I ask what that system is firewalling in terms of bandwidth/connections?

I am currently firewalling a 30 megabyte synchronous fiber optic link with about 1000 peak concurrent connections.
I expect this bandwidth to double each year over the next couple of years until I have enough bandwidth to provide a 1 to 1 computing environment.
I may also add a secondary WAN connection in the near future to keep costs down and provide redundancy.
