      Hi

      I have a new PFSense installation. For the NIC I am using a 4 port HP based on the Intel 21143.
      PFSense can see all 4 ports and loads the dc driver correctly. However when running a ping to the modem connected to the ports I am getting ping times of 3000+ ms and dropped packets. I have tried manually changing the MTU as some people have suggested. I have also tried adding```
      if_dc_load="YES"

        Related or not it's not a good sign.
        What NIC is it exactly? What is the rest of your hardware?

          @matt.b234:

          Is there anything that I am missing that could effect the performance of the NIC?

          Age?

          That thing is ancient

            Pretty sure even the first 10base2 NIC I had could do better than 3sec ping!  ;)
            (though I don't think it was running an IP stack so probably couldn't ping at all)
