Button Connect VPN on ipsec
-
Hello,
Why the connect button appears in the option LAN subnet…. When I select the option Address it does not appear. how to solve?
-
The "connect" operation just sends a ping from the firewall to an IP in the remote P2. If the firewall does not have an IP in the local side of the P2, then it can't properly source a ping to the far end to initiate the tunnel.
It doesn't really do anything special though, so if you send a ping or any other traffic from the local system that is specified in the 'address' you've entered for the P2 network, it would still come up.

So how do I connect the vpn without the button?
-
You don't do it manually. It happens automatically when traffic tries to use the tunnel.
-
I d'not know that!!!!! Thanks jimp!!!!!! I resolved ping the remote machine, and the connection automatically worked! … Now I used the option Automatically ping host, to keep the tunnel always working. correct?

In that circumstance, the firewall can't bring the tunnel up nor keep it alive, it has no IP matching the VPN it can use. Only the internal address can.

I understand, thanks cmb!! thanks jimp!!
