Pfsense packages list
-
Hi all. I would like to ask a question about packages list. I have a pfsense box, recenlty updated to 2.0.3.Everything works fine.
I have also some packages installed with no problem. Today i wanted to install the 2 years old package, mactovendor. In the repositoryhttps://github.com/pfsense/pfsense-packages/tree/master/config
there is this package.
When i look at my pfsense boxes package list list there are some packages missing (although if i choose to install any package of these available it installs without a problem). Is it possible that NOt all packages appear on my pfsense's package list? strange…Thank you for any reply.

When packages are disabled, there's good reason for it.
https://github.com/pfsense/pfsense-packages/commit/6f02b57b37e336996bd6e3b49109a62c19bc9bb0those capabilities are included in the base system.

Hi, thank you for the reply. So, is there any kind of mac vendor information currently in base system? Cause i can't find it sincerely. I mean a function like "OUI" that many ddwrt and tomato router firmwares has and redirects you to a page with vendor information.
Thanks.

You need to have the nmap package installed since it carries with it the vendor database.
Once you have that installed it will show them automatically in places like the DHCP leases and ARP table.

Thank you very much for the support.
I Appreciate it ;)
