"unusual traffic" captcha in google search every day with less than 20 users
-
Hi,
I'm managing a small office with 20 computers,
For at least 6 months now, we're getting the "unusual traffic" CAPTCHA every few days.
Every time I fill google's form (the one that asks for IP address and number of users) it fix the issue but only for few hours\days.Some of the employees less "tech-y" and familiar with this kind of stuff, and it takes them too much time to get around that. When it's come up too often, it's really disturbing and increase efficiency at work.
I tried to contact my ISP, but they said they can't help me with that and also can't contact Google.
I'm using pfSense as my Router, and windows server 2008 r2 as internal DNS server.
Any tips\suggestions would be HIGHLY appreciated!
Thanks! -

I have no idea what that is. An explanation along the lines of "When someone does … then ... happens." would probably considerably increase my understanding. Attaching a suitable screenshot would probably also help. Could you also explain why you think pfSense has something to do with it.

One (or more) of those 20 pc's probably has some malware sending out spam.

That, or someone has a browser plugin that hammers one of Google's APIs. That tends to happen with marketing guys who have plugins that automatically pull pagerank for search results.

Thats for all the replies, I don't think pfSense create the problem, but I count on it to help me find the problematic device.
It may be everything you said, I just can't get to it if I can't figure out which device cause that.
Do you think I can use some usage logs to find it?Thanks!

Try using something like BandwidthD, DarkStat, or NTOP. These packages can let you see what IP's (and thus PC's) are creating the most traffic. Check for both lots of upload packets and throughput.
