      Hi!

      I got Asus P8Q67 mobo (2xPCIe + 2xPCI) and tried to configure pfsense on it.
      I found an issue which I can't solve:
      Step 0: Mobo's integrated LAN is Intel 82579,it's recognized by pfsense and works perfectly.
      Step 1 [PCIe RTL + PCI RTL]: Then I added 1xPCIe TP-LINK TG-3468 (RTL8168B) and 1xPCI TP-LINK TG-3269 (RTL8169SC).
      Step 1.1 [PCIe RTL + PCI RTL] If I insert PCI card in second PCI slot, then pfsense hangs on "reX interface is UP".
      Step 1.2 [PCIe RTL + PCI RTL] If I insert it in first PCI slot - everything is OK.
      Step 2 [PCIe RTL + PCI RTL + PCI Intel] Than I inserted Intel PRO/1000 MT Desktop Adapter in second PCI slot and I got en error "em1: Watchdog timeout - resetting" - em1 is unreachable but pfsense didn't hang
      Step 3 [PCI RTL or PCI Intel] I thought that I have a problem with mobo, but if I insert any NIC only in second PCI slot - everything is OK.
      Step 4 [2xPCIe RTL + PCI] If I insert one more PCIe RTL8168B (two PCIe cards in total) pfsense hangs on "reX interface is UP".

      I understand that Realtek chips are not so good, especially for FreeBSD and pfSense, but I have lots of TP-Links with Realtek chips and only one Intel PRO/1000 MT + 1 integrated Intel 82579 in my MB so I can't test Intel-only-NIC configuration.
      Main question is: if I'll replace PCI RTL8169SC with Intel 1000GT and PCIe RTL8168B with BROADCOM BCM5721 will it hang or it will be good?

          @tirsojrp:

          Get a quad or 2xdual nics

          Quad needs PCI-X, dual is more expensive than 2x 1000GT and I have tight budget :(
