We have a pppoe password of 12 characters is that a problem for PFsense? according to our internet provider they are only getting 10 characters on there Radiusserver?
does anyone know if there is a restriction in pfsense ??

If you are using RADIUS, then the info at that URL would not apply.

We don't enforce one or set it in the mpd config. If there is such a limit in the actual auth protocol or in mpd internally, I'm not sure.

In the old version of PFsense (1.2.3-RELEASE) the PPPOE client works with the longer password and is working perfectly But in 2.0.3-RELEASE the PPPOE client doesn't work. Iám getting the error the password is not correct. When i contact mine internetprovider he is telling that I'm not sending 12 characters password but only sending 10 characters password…The only difference is the version of Pfsense...

What does /var/etc/mpd_wan.conf contain? (make sure to blank out the user/password before copying here) Does it have your full password in there, or is it cut off?

PPPoE logins are handled by mpd, and the version of mpd did change from 1.2.3 to 2.x, but I'm not aware of any issues with password length there.

              The password is completely visible

'Set auth password' is 12 characters long.

In the config.xml file the password is also 12 characters

Check Status > System Logs on the PPP tab, and post the log, it may have some info there.

I'm going again on Friday for a new attempt to replace the old version of PFsense for the new pfsense version.

                  To be continue

The problem was indeed the 12 character password. I have changed the password in to 9 characters (to be safe) and the problem was disappeared
