Can you please send the config file privately so i can look at what is causing the issue for you?
You can anonimize what seems like a very private information.

        Thanks a lot.
You got a pm with a link to config. You can get access to one or both of the boxes if you need it.

Seeing the same problem with my 2.1 box; auto-update fails with "image is corrupt."

Same issue here, but going from 2.1RC0 to the latest build of the same.

                Same here.

Choosing "pfSense amd64 2.1-RC snapshots (Current architecture)" from the Updater Settings tab, sets the source to:

                http://snapshots.pfsense.org/FreeBSD_RELENG_8_3/amd64/pfSense_RELENG_2_1/.updaters

but there are only Nano images there.  The real snaps seems to be here:

                http://snapshots.pfsense.org/FreeBSD_RELENG_8_3/amd64/pfSense_RELENG_2_1/updates

but you can't use that as a source.

As far as I can see from http://snapshots.pfsense.org/

There is only pfSense-Full-Update-2.1-RC0-amd64-20130531-0912.tgz version in there from 31 May

I am seeing the same issue here on my box, I would guess we just have to wait for newer one maybe?

As for the OP maybe try a fresh install, instead of upgrade or just wait for newer one.

P.S. just saw this New version: Sat Jun  1 23:57:30 EDT 2013 is up in updater  :D

Update: it shows the image file is corrupt message too.

                    @val:

Yes, that's corrupt too.. And I can't even find it.

Update: it shows the image file is corrupt message too.

                        Same problem here from updater.
In the log I found this :

php: /system_firmware_auto.php: The command '/usr/bin/gzip -t '/root/latest.tgz'' returned exit code '1', the output was 'gzip: /root/latest.tgz: not in gzip format'

Maybe this is the cause of the error.

i think there is some issue with the builder which creates the snaps but takes ages or die trying to copy the files to the snapshot server resulting in broken or corrupt snap files

I see the error as well, started with the build prior to sat nights build.

Did a manual download of the June 1 snap from there and the update worked fine.

Update to June 2 in progress at the moment

Just wasn't there before earlier. Only some CF-Images were in the directory, no latest.tgz, no i386/am64 update whatsoever. Now it's back to normal I guess
