I've upgraded one server from 2.0.2 to 2.1 (2013/06/06) and nrpe is not working now.

I get a "Could not read request from client" SSL error.

2.0.2 and 2.1 packages appears as nrpe-2.12_3 but

on 2.0.2 we get 2.12 with ssl support.

SSL/TLS Available: Anonymous DH Mode, OpenSSL 0.9.6 or higher required
      TCP Wrappers Available

But in 2.1 version we get 2.13 without ssl support.

Looks like the build flags got flip-flopped and SSL was off instead of on. The 2.1 package is rebuilding now. If you reinstall it later tonight or tomorrow, it should be OK.

Thanks Jimp… I didn't bother troubleshooting the why, just created a new command that did the check without SSL as it's on a closed network anyways. But thanks for fixing it.... now I guess I have to update. Is it still recommended to remove the package before installing the updated pfsense?

            Thanks again,

            Mark

I had to deinstall it to avoid pfsense to take old package from his package cache.

For a binary change, it's typically best to uninstall and reinstall to ensure you have the most current package installed.
