I am attempting to run pfsense on an embeddedx86 model TS-5400.
      http://wiki.embeddedarm.com/wiki/TS-5400

      What I get is this:

I have seen several posts stating that if you are utilizing an ALIX board and getting said response to update the bios and the problem goes away.
I guess my question is two fold - does anyone have any direct advice on how to resolve my issue here. 2 - What exactly was the bios change in the ALIX that fixed this particular issue.

Please be gentle when pointing out my lack of detail.

Thanks in advance for any and all assistance. I am truly grateful.

Looking at that spec page it looks like you are seeing the output of the console redirect bios code, you are seeing the POST information. However is says that appears by default on com2. As soon as the kernel loads it will switch the output to com1. Could that be your issue?

        Steve

Edit: A bigger problem is that that board has only 16MB RAM which is, unfortunately, far too little for pfSense. Minimum requirement is 128MB is believe. Perhaps m0n0wall would be a better target OS?

Edit2: Even m0n0wall recommends 64MB. Perhaps OpenWRT then.
