I'm trying to decompress IMG from gz file using 7-zip on a PC with Windows, but all images of version 2.0.3 (I tried a lot) are corrupted when I try to use the IMG file on IMGTOISO or Virtual CloneDrive. I can decompress, but I can't to use IMG file.

What can I do? What is wrong? I need to download and install this version.

      Which file did you download?

What are you trying to install to? (there a few options). In particular, why are you trying

IMG is not corrupted. It mounts perfectly fine using this howto: http://doc.pfsense.org/index.php/Modifying_Embedded

For troubles/lack of supported for the IMG format with Windows software such as IMGTOISO or Virtual CloneDrive, you need to contact the author of that SW. Not post here.

          Thanks for your reply.

No Way. I tried on Linux (Ubuntu) and Windows. I can decompress the gz file (gunzip on linux, 7-zip on Windows), but I can't mount or burn or convert to iso or use ir on VirtualBox, neither in Windows, neither in Linux.

How can I download a non corrupted image? Or how can I use this image.

I downloaded a lot of pfSense images before, all working, and don't know what's wrong now.

          Regards,

          Alexandro

The fact that you used the term 'IMG' in the title of this thread leads people (including me) to think that you might be downloading a nanobsd image file. This is not a CD image, you cannot make it into a CD, virtual or otherwise.
What file are you actually downloading?

            Steve

Try this and let me know if its still broke.  This is a special link.  (special in that its a live CD install)

                or convert to iso

OMG. If you want ISO, then download the ISO. Not IMG (which is raw HDD image).
