Asus board, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131793 (has 3 pci-e slots huge plus, onboard lan is realtek, crappy I know but it should be supported i think, and if it gives me trouble I will just throw in a good Intel card into one of the extra pci-e slots. all capacitors are solid, which I like)

1-2 Intel cards, prolly use one to start & the onboard lan. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16833106011

Nice, very efficient power supply: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817151086

      Intel Celeron G530 Sandy Bridge 2.4GHz LGA 1155: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819116409

      gskill memory: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231276

total: $290 (case is not included in this list, I have a micro ATX case that I got for $30 off newegg but never used, that I will be using.)

I built a similar system not that long ago[1]. You could save some money, by getting some the parts I got in that build. Like the memory and dual port Intel NIC, for example. I'm not sure on the motherboard, but since the one I bought has a newer chipset. You should be fine.

Thanks for the reply. I am going to save some money, and get a dual nic intel card like that off ebay.

          new build:

          motherboard $55: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813138332
          Celeron G530 Sandy $52: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819116409
          Mushkin Essentials 4GB (2 x 2GB) $22: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820146748
SeaSonic efficient power supply $41: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817151085

IBM / Intel PRO/1000 PT Dual Port Gigabit NIC Adapter PCI-E ~$55: http://www.ebay.com/itm/350513539530

Total $225 (lowered my original price a little, and got that added bonus of dual nic card, thanks for the tip on that)

Looks many people are building a SNB router :D, here's mine built two days ago:
            http://forum.pfsense.org/index.php/topic,45439.0.html

            CPU : Intel Celeron G530
            MB : Intel DH61WW
            RAM : Kingston DDR3 1333 2GB x2
            Storage : WD 2.5" 320GB
            PSU : Antec ECO 400C
            Chassis : SilverStone SG-02F
            1st NIC : Intel 82579V(Onboard)
            2nd NIC : Intel 82574L(Intel Pro1000 CT)
            Switch : PCi FXG-08EP

On board NIC works well with the PCI-E card to act as WAN and LAN NIC, that way you save quite a lot from a dual port card.
Including the switch, the above cost like 289 USD, excluding the harddisk which I used an old one.

              @xanaro:

              motherboard $55: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813138332
IBM / Intel PRO/1000 PT Dual Port Gigabit NIC Adapter PCI-E ~$55: http://www.ebay.com/itm/350513539530

If you're interested, you could spend a little more and get the Intel S1200KP motherboard for $170.
              C206 Chipset
              Dual Intel NICs (onboard)
              Low power.
              Mini-ITX.

I have one and I'm happy with it.
