      Hi all!

I`m about to reinstall pfsense on some box that cannot:
      1. Boot from CDROM
      2. Boot from USB

      Question:

Can I install pfsense from CDROM in another PC and then just move SATA disk to this hardware I intend to use?
I did this already (just had to edit fstab), but I wish to know if there are some drivers or something that would
need to be installed on parent machine not host one?

      Thanks!

          Umm we misunderstood :)

Step 1: Connect SATA disk to "donor" system
Step 2: install pfsense on it
Step 3: insert SATA disk to Nexcom DNA-840 appliance
Step 4: edit fstab to allow booting
Step 5: boot and configure pfsense

This is what I did, and pfsense is working just fine.
I just asked if this should not be done or can it "slowdown" system because pfsense was not installed on nexcom dna840…

          Thanks!

            I don't think so..

If it worked, drivers are just fine.
