Hi All - new forum poster here.  We've been using pfSense for traffic shaping and limiting for LAN parties we host.  We've got a good set of rules for prioritizing gaming traffic and limiting other traffic.

My question is simple (I hope).  We want to exclude specific IP's from the traffic shaping so that their traffic to the internet is not limited at all.  (specifically our game server and twitch feed computer which are on static IP's)

Hoping to get an answer quick as we'd like to implement this for an event tomorrow night!

Thanks in advance for the help and for a great tool!

EDIT:  I tried searching the forums and only found one thread asking this same question, and no responses.

Make your workstation to have a Static IP, then create an alias and exclude the IP of your Server. : ))

Firewall rules are evaluated from top to bottom, so create another rule above the other ones that catches the traffic from that PC, and send it to the appropriate queue (one with more priority, or with more bandwith, or without limiters, depending on how you configured your shaper).

          Regards!

If it ain't broke, you haven't tampered enough with it
