I think I came across the WEB config bug. To reproduce it go to System: Advanced: Notifications, tick box on Enable SSL/TLS Authentication and hit TEST SMTP button. The test works but tick box becomes un ticked. If you then save settings it will save as un-ticked and won't work of course.

This happens on 2.1-RC1 (i386) built on Thu Aug 1 19:03:40 EDT 2013
Could anyone verify if this is localized on my environment or this is actually a bug?

clicking test does not save, it tests.

If you want to save, click save. If you want to test, click test. No need to have the settings enabled to test. It can test with it enabled or disabled.

        Hi jimp,

Thanks for reply. I'm not sure I follow you. Are you saying that clicking TEST button is meant to untick "Enable SSL/TLS Authentication" besides the obvious purpose - sending the test email? Cause that's what I am observing.

If you make any changes, and then click Test, they will not be retained.

Clicking the test button will not make nor save any changes on its own.

That's what I thought too but I am observing contrary. Hence the bug report.

So which is it that you're observing now?

When you press Test, is the checkbox status saved at the time, or does it go back to what it was before you changed the box?

It is saved as ticked. I need it to be ticked but after clicking TEST it gets cleared.

                  So is it:

Go to page, box is checked. Uncheck it, press Test => Box is unchecked
Go to page, box is unchecked. Check it, press Test => Box is checked

                  Or this:

Go to page, box is unchecked, click text => Box is checked

If it's one of the first two, just don't change the box. Test works regardless of whether or not the box is checked.

In my situation it is saved as checked. After hitting TEST (test works) page reloads as unchecked.

When doing some testing on a VM here it looks like pressing Test actually is saving the settings.

But I can't reproduce any kind of settings flipping. What is there before pressing test is the same when the page reloads.

Are you on a full install? NanoBSD?

I've got a full install from ISO and updated to latest snapshot (previous one now). Also duplicated last night at home on virtualbox. Don't have to even enter any settings. Just check the box, hit save. Reload page to make sure the setting is retained. Then hit TEST button then page reloads and box is no longer checked.

If you are having trouble replicating this I can pm you RDP details to my virtualbox so you can have a look and see what I am seeing.
