Cant acknowledge alerts/notices
-
I just upgraded to to 2.1 pfsense today. I first upgraded 2.01 i386 to 2.1 386 and when i got notices/alerts at the top of the dashboard, I could not acknowledge them to clear the queue. I can open the popup to see what the alert is about but thats it. I thought it was theme related and tried every theme out there and still same problem. There is a [object window] that scrolls across the top of the page instead of the alert scrolling as it should in the area for alerts. There is just static text that says two unread alerts.
So i backed up the config, wiped everything and installed the 64bit 2.1 and then restored config. same thing is happening… The two alerts now are about my ssh keys regenerating but i cant clear them.
Anyone have any suggestions as to why this is happening?

I did a fresh install of 2.1 i386 and then restored my config, same issue.. Not sure what is causing this.
These are the packages that I have installed. Not sure if maybe one of those are breaking the dashboard/theme with the alert notices?
Anyone having alerts working ok and can dismiss them?

Yeah, me, on multiple boxes. Seems like you are clicking in a wrong place. (Post a screenshot of what you are doing.)

This is in firefox… I just pasted the relevant area... As you can see i have something that scrolls across the top..
The first screenshot is what i see and how i see it on all themes..
The second one is what i see when i click on the blue unread text..
I can not access them/clear them.
I have cleared notices many times in the past.

Never used this theme. It works just fine with the default (pfsense_ng) one. Also, the overlaps with menus suggests there's more than just thing wrong with that one. You should click the "Acknowledge All Notices" text - which is almost unreadable since it's across the menu items.

This problem appears in the default theme too..
I try to click on it text but nothing happens. the courser changes to the click able icon but when i click nothing happens.. its kinda like its not acutally clicking on the link.

WFM. Try
- wipe browser cache and restart the browser
- safe mode without crazy addons
- different browser (not IE)

Well, i did a complete package reinstall and then accessed via chrome (was using firefox to reinstall all packages so it was busy atm) and I was able to click the ack all and it removed them.. So not sure if a package that was being installed during pfsense config restore was corrupting something.. Will have to keep an eye on it.
I did clear cache and cookies prior to opening this thread.. It had to be one of the packages…
Thanks for your suggestions.

I changed the theme to the default now that the alerts are cleared. the first screen shot is firefox. the second is chrome.. Chrome seems to be displaying it properly and firefox isnt.
However it should be noted before I did a restore (default install) firefox displayed the theme perfectly. It wasnt until i did a restore and packages were installed that things broke.
I guess I will need to do a clean install and install one by one until i see what breaks. it :-(

Well, good to have it narrowed down. Quite some packages have been untouched for years and definitely need polishing for 2.1 (or even 2.0)
