Sending email behind LAN to external SMTP
-
Uhh, i dont know if this post is on the right Place. I would like to solve sending email behind LAN from our smartphones/surfpads without disconect from LAN (wifi)
Can this be configured somehow?
LAN and Phone operators have different SMTP server adress. When trying to send mail using home LAN it wont send. Mail sending fine using regular phone network
LAN SMTP: smtp.tyfon.net
Cell SMTP: smtp.euromail.seHelp, much appriciated. Thanks in advance

"it wont send" is not a useful issue description. SMTP session log, please.

Nothing is showing in the System Logs (firewall). I dunno whare SMTP session is :(
Phone only report "Sending Fail" - thats is

On the client. Or at least use telnet to diagnose this. The firewall obviously won't have any SMTP session logs, it's not sending any mail.

Too far much more advance diagnosting then i can myself handle on smartphones/tabs. I had in mind like;
;IF
- Sending mail from LAN using phoneOperator (smtp.euromail.se); then route smtp to LAN (smtp.tynet.net), and send …..
Puhh, hard trying to explain ....

You do NOT need to run this from smartphone. Neither it's really obvious what does this have to do with the firewall. You set up the client to use whatever SMTP server you want. If it does not work, you need some logs.

Thats the faulty part. Phone only have 1 field of which SMTP server to use. When using phoneOperator network mail sending fine. When return home and connect to home wifi, hell break loose

Presumably your ISP is blocking any SMTP traffic but to their own servers. Once again, you can test this from ANY computer, using telnet.

220 smtp.euromail.se ESMTP
220 mx4.tyfon.net ESMTP server readyIs thare no way by definition to tell pfSense to route from euromail to tyfon when reconized?

Well, if it's not blocked… then, you need to actually try to send real mail via the SMTP server, using telnet, exactly like the phones that fail would. Google it if unfamiliar with the procedure. There can be other policies in place breaking this.
