      I have pfsense installed on USB. Tried both manual upgrade and auto upgrade.  Both of them recieving this error

      pfSense php: : New alert found: Upgrade failed due to the upgrade image being larger than the partition that is configured on disk. Halting. Size on disk: 921 < Size of new image: 923

      ?

        Yeah - That sucks. If you have backups of your config, I'd just do a clean install of 2.1 and then restore settings.

        BTW - How big is this drive? 1GB?

          Well i would rather not have to do something like that, there is no easy fix instead?

          Well the USB is 16GB but pfsense version is the 2GB

            Are you within a couple GB of having a full disk?

            Are you using squid cache?

            If so, how big is the cache?

            If you reset the cache to 0 might you have enough free space for the upgrade?

              No im not using squid cache, everything is standard and there is only being use 2gb from pfsense, so there is alot of free space.

                @TheEnergy:

                pfsense version is the 2GB

                So I'm assuming it's a Nano image? That's what you should be running on a USB drive.

                What version is on the stick already? 32/64bit? VGA?
                Generally speaking the image sizes have only become smaller. In order to fit on increasingly the stretched definition of 'GB' some manufacturers seem to use.  ::) I'd be very surprised if the image became larger, almost everyone would have this problem. I'd look for an incorrect image.
