I have a 50 Mbit/s Line (2,5 Mbit/s Up). I habe configured my LAN Interface for 1 Gbit/s. I have created a Sub Queue internet with a bandwidth of 50 Mbit/s and a upper Limit of 50 MBit/s. Scheduler is hfsc. With this configuration I only get a download speed of 20 MBit/s. When I set the upper Limit to 100 MBit/s I can download with the full 50 Mbit/s. I didn't expect this. Is this normal behaviour? I am running pfsense as a VM with KVM. Could this problem be caused by kvm? Perhaps the PFsense vm cannot determine the exact Speeds because of Timing problems? Any ideas anyone?

It has to be added to the firewall rules. And if that doesn't work pfSense is implementing it wrong.

Post a screenshot of your shaper. Do you have only 1 queue? Are you sure the traffic isn't being catched and sent to another queue? Is the default queue correctly set?

If it ain't broke, you haven't tampered enough with it
