Traffic Shaping on VPN connection

Hi,

I need help on this topic as I don't know where to start.
My initial Problem was this: http://forum.pfsense.org/index.php/topic,67802.0.html

But I found out that when my line is ideling I do not get these errors, so I believe I need to do some traffic shaping on the line.
Keep in Mind that I'm only using the VPN GW to reach the internet.

Is it really that hard to do it ?
