The gateway: XXXX is invalid or unknown, not using it.
-
I have read a post on the 2.0 RC forum that says that the above message in the system logs is informative and can be ignored. The thing is I no longer have a gateway called XXXX.
I initially setup my system using Interfaces and Gateways named the same. About 12 months ago I changed to use GW_ for gateways and the name of my ISP for the interface. XXXX is the name of the interface and used to be the name of the gateway. Is there a problem that part of the system is using an interface name as the name of a gateway?
Just curious.
Thanks, Greg.

Look in System: Routes: Gateways: Is the old gateway still listed?

I know this is Old topic, but NO the Gateway is not listed yet it shows up in boot logs as Error. so how can I delete a gateway that is not in the GUI?

I have the same problem, version 2.4.4 - after removing the openvpn client

@brepo Its not a gateway but a Stale Rule, what I did was watch for the syntax of the error. then export your config in XML and search for it, then you can find it and navigate in the GUI and remove.
I was able to clean out my alleged gateway error. -
@dudleydogg thank you.
this is true, entries in iptables

Locking this topic, it's waaaay too old.
But, yes, if you have firewall rules that have a gateway set that's been removed it will throw that error.
