2.1.1 release timeline?
-
There are quite a few little (and not so little if they happen to impact you) bug fixes in the 2.1 branch on GitHub. But no real show-stopper fixes that require an urgent build and release of 2.1.1.
For me, the useful fix is the OpenVPN failing over and back automatically https://github.com/pfsense/pfsense/commit/4bf23d320bc96eeabf2daf9024583f2cc5a6662a
This little DHCP lease time calculation option was noticed today - https://github.com/pfsense/pfsense/pull/864 - and the forum post asks when it may end up in a production release - http://forum.pfsense.org/index.php/topic,70504.0.html
And there are plenty of other little goodies.
I think all the fixes so far do not change binaries, so they apply cleanly with gitsync. Thus someone who really wants all the 2.1 branch fixes so far, can gitsync to it and go.
Making a full set of release images, getting them tested and distributed to the mirrors… is not a trivial job.
Is there any estimated timeline for 2.1.1? -
No estimates, but it will be at some point after we find confirmed fixes for the ixgbe issues and a few other items.

Will the Snort issue with forced filter reload be one of them Jim??

Will the Snort issue with forced filter reload be one of them Jim??
I don't know.
Is there a ticket for it? If so, is the ticket marked as having a target of 2.1.1? -
I dont know mate! I havent checked TBH :)
Just wondering since Snort suffers from it.
