-
Hi,
I was given a "almost new" SSL 100 (No CF, 80GB HD) and wanted to try out PFSense
at home as normall I deal with Cisco ASA.It it possible to install onto this model and does anyone have any instructions.
Thank you in advance.

Yes. :)
Deppending on what bios it has it may be easy. What date is the bios labeled with?
Do you want to use the HD or a CF card?Steve

Hi,
It has a 80GB HD Fitted, No CF Card (but slot)
I have reset the OS to Default and the bios information reads WGEM-550E-CK:E624 2009-03-26
I only have access to the Web Gui and a console connection requesting WG-SSLVPN Login.
Any help appreciated
Regards
Kim

Your bios date indicates that it will probably boot from any sized CF card. If you have one you can write the NanoBSD image to it and boot (remove the HD).
Alternatively it will boot from the HD but you will need to move the drive to another machine to install it, enable a serial console, and then move it back.
The SSL-100 is almost identical to the X-e boxes described here:
https://doc.pfsense.org/index.php/PfSense_on_Watchguard_Firebox#X-Core-e
It has more ram, a HD and a newer bios that doesn't seem quite as buggy as older versions described there.Steve
