Well, i just had it apart and looks like a few Broadcom chips and the boards are layered.
Seems like the whole system runs off a main CF card and there's a secondary one available at the front…

I tried accessing the console but no output VIA serial connection.
      Here's the pics:

If it ain't broken, fix it till it is :P

Hmm, lots of big scary parts.  ;)
I don't see anything x86 though. Any clues on the serial port at boot?

              Well…
No sign of life on a straight through or crossover cable.
Guess it back to network scan :/

                    Well… surprise, surprise...
The 2700 was a hunk of crap too, all embedded.

Good thing I didn't jump on that 5300 i was eyeing earlier last year LOL

                    Either way...
                    Time to go to a DL380 G5...
                    2.2GHz Duo Core Xeon w/ 8GB DDR2
Myricom 10GB card and HP Infiniband card

i run pfsense on a pair of dl360 G5s dual quad cores with extra NICs for CARP, i love them

also running it on a pair of bl450c g5 blades w/ CARP

you should get a 1u 360, i feel like a 380 could still be used for something better  ;)
