      Hi
Been using pfsense now for about a year, great bit of kit.  I am using the pfsence on the battery backup but not using serial coms back to any PC to monitor/shutdown.

I am not a linux man, only just about get by but know my way around other operating systems.  Has anyone had any success installing the linux driver and using the serial cable?

I believe there is a web port that is opened up so I can monitor the battery progress, however is it blocked/conflicts by pfsense?

I would want it to shutdown when the battery is near flat, so I don't corrupt pfsense (which i have done before but it self-healed on reboot)

      Any advice will be welcome

pfSense is BSD not Linux, makes the answers a bit different.

        Try this: https://doc.pfsense.org/index.php/Nut_package

There are some topics on nut too: http://forum.pfsense.org/index.php/topic,53308.0.html

There's now an apcupsd package as well that might work better for you.
