      I'm wondering is it possible to run pfSense on Xbox 360? :)
      It can run Linux, so…

        Interesting question. I guess you'd be the first!
        Can it run FreeBSD? Is there not a bootloader restriction?

        Steve

        Edit: Yes but looks like it requires some patches and only mentions FreeBSD 7.

          I think that's only Xbox, not Xbox 360.  The original Xbox used a Pentium III CPU, but the Xbox 360 uses something PowerPC-based.

            I was perhaps reading more into this article than was actually there.  ::)

              Well.. as far I know Xbox 360 has custom 3-core Xenon Processor:
              IBM PowerPC Xenon 3,2 GHz
              and it works in in-order execution mode.
              But only 512 MB GDDR3 shared memory is available.

                Xeon is not Xenon!

                It's PowerPC so no chance of running pfSense without a lot of work.

                  @stephenw10:

                  Xeon is not Xenon!

                  heh, this happens when CTRL+C and CTRL+V is used ;)

                    Oops! I phrased that badly.  :-[
                    The CPU in the Xbox 360 is indeed an [url=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xenon_%28processor%29]IBM Xenon, as you originally wrote. It is Power PC architecture.
                    I was pointing out that it is very different from Intel's Xeon processor which is X86 (64) architecture.
