    Hi all,

    Firstly to apologise if I am asking something which is elsewhere on this forum, I've spent about 5 hours trying to diagnose this issue and started to go around in circles so any help will be appreciated (especially with trying to diagnose where the problem lies).

    We are currently running 2.0.1 RELEASE (i386) so I expect I am going to be told to upgrade.

    Background:

    We currently have a leased fibre line from Managed Communications / Daisy PLC which we use for our business broadband. This is connected directly to our pfSense firewall - (WAN Gateway). We also have a secondary BT Business Broadband which we use as a Guest network, which is configured as the ADSL Gateway.

    The company have decided to replace the leased line with a new leased fibre line from BT.net - which has now been installed and is ready for myself to migrate across to. We have been informed that the new line is ready to be used however during my attempts to migrate over I have had no success so far.

    We have the following details from BT

    IPV4 Network Address (I assume this to be our static IP ) - 194.x.x.160
    IPV4 Network Mask - 255.255.255.240
    IPv4 BTnet NTE Router Lan Address (I assume this to be our gateway address)

    For DNS Lookup - we should use 194.72.6.57 and 194.73.82.242

    Running through the Setup Wizard, I enter the two DNS addresses above, and then set the static IP to be 194.x.x.160/28 and the Gateway to be 194.x.x.161

    This then reports that we have a connection, but from each individual workstation I am unable to navigate to any websites as we have a DNS issue where there is no DNS lookup. I cannot ping from PfSense, or via the workstation to any external sites. I also cannot run a trace route.

    I've tried the following:

    System -> General Setup

    Set the above DNS Servers here. Currently we only use 192.168.1.2 - which is our main Domain Controller.
    Set these DNS servers to Use gateway 'WAN'

    Can someone point me in the right direction for where I should be looking to get this working, or further diagnosis on where the problem lies - so far I have been chasing my tail and had to roll back the configuration twice. Unfortunately I need to do this out of hours as we have a German and an American office which means I'm spending a lot of time late at night getting nowhere.

    Cheers in advance

      @eldelementez:

      194.x.x.160 is your subnet ID.  They are routing a /28 block to you.  The usable addresses in that block are:  194.x.x.161 (used by gateway) to 194.x.x.174.  You should set your WAN IP to one of those addresses e.g. 194.x.x.162.

          Thanks Dreamslacker - worked first time - I feel like a n00b now but glad all is sorted.

          Much appreciated.
