Ntop package broken after restore on new hardware

Hi,

I've been using pfsense for years on a noisy old PC, and recently I bought an Alix board from PC Engines. I had the ntop package installed on my old config, and I did the backup / restore process in the most simple way: with all defaults.

The new hardware works just fine, but there seems to be something wrong with ntop: under the "diagnostic" menu, I can see ntop related lines ("ntop" and "ntop settings"), but they don't work at all, and generate errors. On the other side, ntop package is not visible in both "available" and "installed" packages. So there's no way I can easily delete or reinstall ntop.

Any idea how I can solve that?

That translates to "ntop is not support on embedded (nanoBSD) platforms" - i.e. Alix with CF card. That is why it does not show in Available Packages.
Your old config is going to have the menu entries there, but as you have found there is no code behind it. :(

Thanks a lot! In order to make things clean, is it supposed to be safe to make a backup, remove manually in there everything related to ntop, and restore everything back? Maybe there is a better way to remove these menu entries?

I answer my own question: I simply made a backup "without package information", followed by a restore. Works perfect, no "hack" was necessary.
