BUG: DHCPv6 "Deny unknown clients" does not seem to work!
-
Hi
While experimenting with IPv6 I noticed that the "Deny unknown clients" option in "Services" - "DHCPv6 server" does not seem to work.
Even when it is enabled and the configuration has been saved new DHCPv6 leases pops up in "Status" - "DHCPv6 leases".
I have not defined any entries in the table "DHCPv6 Static Mappings for this interface", but yet it happens.Have any one else noticed this bug or is someone willing to test it?
And another question.
Should there at least be two persons who notice this bug before I or someone else report it on the pfSense bug tracker?Update: Forgot to mention the version of pfSense which is I use:
2.1-RELEASE (i386)
built on Wed Sep 11 18:16:50 EDT 2013
FreeBSD 8.3-RELEASE-p11 -
I have added a bug report at https://redmine.pfsense.org/issues/3364

This seems to have been "resolved" by removing the feature without any discussion why or any attempt to fix… Giving the benefit of the doubt I'm sure this final solution type answer is warranted, but I'd love to learn why...

There is no such feature with IPv6. Read: NOT implemented in the DHCP server. Also read RFC 6939.
BTW, here's a nice quick summary slideshow on DHCPv6 state/implementation/pitfalls.
