      Hello All,

      I have just done my first installation of pf Sense and as it turns out my on-board LAN card is not recognized. I am running an old Asrock N68PV-GS (http://www.asrock.com/mb/overview.asp?Model=N68PV-GS) that has a Nvidia chip set featuring the Giga PHY Realtek RTL8211CL. I have two additional cards installed and  I am running just fine but would like to have the option of load balancing in the future, and running a WAP off of one of the other ports for now.

      Anyone have any experience with this type of NIC? Can someone point me in the right direction please?

      Thank you,
      Kevin

        What version of pfSense are you using?

        Please post the output of the pfSense shell command```

        dmesg

          Sorry for the delay I have been pulled off this project for a couple of days, here is the result of that command. I think that I see it in this report and it is listed as either nfe0 or rgephy0. I do not have that listed in my Interfaces how ever, it is just vr0 and vr1. There is a warning but i believe that it has more to do about an improper shut down or something.

          $ dmesg

            Your network interfaces are vr0, vr1 and nfe0.

            You probably need to go to the pfSense Interfaces -> (assign) page and click on the "+" button at the bottom right to add nfe0 to the pool of interfaces used by pfSense.

              Well what can I say… that was easy!!!! Thanks for your support I appreciate it a ton! Now I have  one that is not used and can plug a second WAN and play with load balancing!

              Sometimes my Job sucks... but they do actually pay me to do this stuff, so how bad could it really be!

                Hmm, paid to play with pfSense. Sounds like a pretty nice job!  ;D
