I have a screen shot on my other computer where my firewall was up for 702 days. I know there are some out there running longer.
Thank you to the developers for making such a great product.

Yes, 31 days is not long at all for a BSD box. Makes me wonder what sort of operating systems you're usually working with.  ;)
I expect to reboot boxes only when updates are released.

I am sure the person is used to working with Windows boxes. Yup, I said it. I have Linux and BSD boxes that rarely get rebooted with uptime approaching 1000 days. (I know some rarely used windows boxes can stay up for longer than a few months.)

Yes, a friend of mine once came to me complaining that his FreeBSD box was becoming unstable. Being almost entirely unfamiliar with FreeBSD at the time I asked him why he thought that. He said that he'd had to reboot it that year whereas he hadn't the year before. This was something of a a revelation to me at the time.  ;)

                Listen…..

I have a client (bank) that has just turned of a NT4.0 SP4 server that has run without reboot since 1998..... Imagine that! Its never been patched or updated in any way. Ran as installed !

There are always exceptions and obviously Microsofts server products are designed not to be rebooted everyday. Not patched since '98? Yikes!  :o

MUst not have been a very busy server. I used to work for a bank, and the busy servers had to be rebooted once a week, cause if not, it would crash after 2 weeks of uptime. Especially the exchange servers. They would blue screen in a 10-12 days.
That is definitely an exception.  Although there was one server that was 2000 server and it was just standalone server that no one had the admin password to that stayed up for at least 6 months or longer.  I have noticed that newer server version are better, they just slow over time and not blue screen.
Sorry for igniting the flame, but Windows has cause so much frustration for me in general.
