      Hi there,

I have just installed squid and it's not blocking the sites I entered in the 'Blacklist' field.  It doesn't appear to be doing anything.  Attached is a screenshot.

      My setup is as follows:
      pfSense 1.2.3 Embedded
Alix board with a LAN port and a WLAN

      Under Status/Services, squid is running

Turning off Transparent Proxy and manually entering the router's ip in the browser seems to have some effect - it's returning the site's old contents and not the latest one.    But it's still not blocking the sites I listed in the Blacklist field.

My intention after having installed and configured Squid successfully was to install SquidGuard, which is what seems to be the general recommendation for Embedded installs.

      Thank you!

"Do not cache" does not mean "block".
It ist just not caching this sites.

To block (filter) sites you need additional tools like squidguard or dansguardian.

But please update your old system to an actual pfsense version like 2.0.1
