Assign/Route External IP Address to Internal Static IP Address for VOIP
-
Hey all:
Been mining the forums and can't seem to find the answer I am looking for. Hoping someone can point me in the right direction.
We have a block of static IP addresses assigned from Verizon through our FIOS connection. Currently our pfSense box is set up on the first IP address and the others are not in use. Here is a simple example of our layout:
FIOSONT –> pfSense Box --> Windows Server 2008 R2 domain --> Dell PowerConnect 2848 Switch --> Internal LAN/Domain (192.X.X.X)
Our VOIP-enabled PBX System (PRI) is assigned a static IP address on the domain. In order for our employees who are on the road to use our "softphone" application, I need to assign one of the external static IP addresses to the PBX system for all traffic.
If someone is willing to walk me through the steps or at least give me an outline on how to accomplish this, it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Scott

1st you should consider if you like to do a DMZ.
Personally i move all hosts which are reachable from the outside to a dmz and everything else to lan (where just outbound traffic is allowed)
Otherwise port forwarding does the magic.
