Each time the dashboard loads, I get the following error when it tries to check for a new version.ย  Tried it from different computers, browsers, cleared the browsers cache, and still the same result.

      2.1-RELEASE (i386)
built on Wed Sep 11 18:16:50 EDT 2013
      FreeBSD 8.3-RELEASE-p11

Fatal error: Call to undefined function curl_init() in /etc/inc/pfsense-utils.inc on line 1627

Looks like something broke the cURL libraries, though I can't say I remember seeing that happen before on 2.1.

On 2.0.x it could happen from uninstalling certain packages but that wouldn't be possible on 2.1 due to the different way that packages are handled. Unless someone has been using pkg_add and pkg_delete from the shell by hand.

Is this an easy fix or do I need to reimage?

You shouldn't need to reimage, but you will want to download a firmware update file for the version you already have to your desktop and then run a manual firmware upgrade to reapply that firmware. You'll end up with the right set of files in the end.

Or just wait for 2.1.1 to drop in a few days and manually apply that one, the next ones should be OK after that.

I got this as well after the update to 2.1.1 release, was moving from pre-release. snort and mailreport are the only packages I am running.

I went ahead and tried the upgrade using the same 2.1 image file that's on the box now, still the same error everyone else is reporting.

FYI this also impacts downloading new packages as well.

What package(s) were you able to install? Any?

Nope, none.ย  The progress bar starts out empty and never completes on any package.

Is that a full install? NanoBSD? What sort of platform?

Everything we've tried has been OK as far as I've seen.
