      Hello,

I am new to pfSense and this forum so please bare with me.

I am currently living in shared accommodation and I am not familiar with the other residents, i am not comfortable having my equipment on their LAN.

I built a pfSense box and connected it (wired) to the shared house virgin media super hub router via two home plugs.

My WAN IP address is static and is currently 192.168.0.254 - 255.255.255.0

My LAN IP from the pfSense box is 10.0.0.1 - 255.255.255.0

I can connect to the internet just fine. However, I have a IP camera i want to access remotely through the WAN.

I know i will have to create a rule on the pfSense box, but how can i do it on the virgin media router? Will i have to port forward traffic to the 192.168.0.254 address?

      Thank you for your replies.

Yes, you will have to have access to the box that has the real public IP (Virgin Media router) and forward a port to pfSense WAN. Then on pfSense you can again forward that port in from pfSense WAN to the camera.

As the Greek philosopher Isosceles used to say, "There are 3 sides to every triangle."
