Web interface : Interfaces > assign > ppps > edit : hangs
-
Hello,
I use PPPOE over a VLAN on my WAN interface to connect to my ISP.
If I go to the webinterface > Interfaces > (assign) > PPPs and click on the edit button behind the rule, the webinterface hangs. The browser keeps indicating 'connecting' for as long as you want. Sometimes it is possible to click on another item and resume normal operation, sometimes it hangs completely and a reboot is needed to cure it. (like right now…)
pfSense itself seems to operate normally while this happens. This behaviour has been so for at least the last 3 AMD64 snapshots. I'm now on the latest (2.2-ALPHA (amd64)
built on Tue Apr 15 09:17:24 CDT 2014) which still does that.Richard

Same behavior with '2.2-ALPHA (amd64) built on Thu Apr 17 10:54:20 CDT 2014'
choosing 'Restart webConfigurator' from the console doesn't help, only a reboot seems to.

I'm seeing the same behaviour here. It definitely worked in 2.1

In 2.1 we backed out the auto-detection code and went with a simple glob() of the available serial ports. On 2.2 it still tries to use the automatic modem detection process which apparently still has an issue.

Must be marked as a private bug, the link takes me to bugtracker login page.

Yeah it is marked that way, though I don't recall why. It's still on our to-fix list for 2.2, but if we push it off again we'll put that glob code from 2.1 in place first.
