Error after installation

Hi pfSense guro,

Need your help.

This is my Hardware specs:
HP ML110 G3
P4 3.0GHz
160 SATA HDD
1GB RAM DDR2
DVD-ROM SATA

pfSense vr: pfSense-LiveCD-2.1.3-RELEASE-i386-20140501-1552

Boot pfsense from cd. Press the "I" and continue the installation. Accept this settings. Quick/Easy install. OK (to reformat the disk). Install Kernel by selecting "Standard Kernel". then reboot.

2nd Boot pfsense from cd. Press "C"(to continue setup). VLAN y/n = n. detect WAN and LAN linked up….continue..... successfully install and configure my pfSense. reboot.

Problem:
After reboot, removed the cd-install from the cd-rom and complete the installation and web configuration. pfSense got stack and searching for the boot loader.

F1 pfSense
F6 PXE
Boot: F1

after pressing F1 go to next line

how to fix this error?

Hi steve, I try the link you give me about BIOS/Disk Errors. I have 320GB hdd installed in my hp proliant ml110 g3.
I set from my bios of hdd to compatible mode SATA and partion my disk into 2 partion ad0=60gb and the rest is the other partion.

but still i got the same error.

F1 pfSense
F2 pSense

F6 PXE
Boot: F2 ############ <- "pressing F2" (#-signs) then press F1 Read Error come out.
Read Error

You have two pfSense slices on that drive?

It's likely that your BIOS is reporting the wrong drive geometry to the boot loader so it can't find the kernel to load. You need to try other HD modes such as LBA or even CHS.
Try an IDE drive if your hardware allows that.

resolve the issue but I dont know if its wrong or in the right way.

Just to share I run hdd tools from seagate and run diagnostic tools for my disk. I try to limit the size of disk from 160gb to 32gb.

after the configuration of my hdd. I go back to install my installation then I got the correct installation.

btw my issue is the boot loader of my pfsense since I did not resolve the boot loader issue, hence I successfully install my pfsense then my goal is to setup pfsense for a testing.

After a good exploring of pfsense that's the time I have to setup/install from hardware to software of pfsense.

No problem. :)

Sounds like maybe your board has a BIOS problem, not correctly passing geometry from larger disks.
Do you have the most recent BIOS for the machine? Since you have installed successfully though I'd probably stick with what you have. ;)

No its an old BIOS update, I read the link you give on me, the last option to fix BIOS Disk is to update the BIOS, but luckily I install my pfsense and maybe if I get pfsense work it out, that's the time I will update bios and try to setup pfsense in the SCSI raid setup.
