Since I still can't get the schedule thing to work right, and i need to curb my internet usage at home, I was wondering if pfsense allows for per-user (per-IP) bandwidth limits on a daily/weekly/monthly basis?  If I can't make netflix on wii available to the kids only during certain times of the day, can I at least cap its daily use so that, say, after N MB of data downloaded, the connection drops?

        No?

Summertime means the kids will be watching a little more netflix than usual, although we do limit TV time.  So my typical internet use over the last few months is likely to go up.

I monitor daily usage through my ISP, which is not so bad, but is there no way to enforce quotas with pfsense?

As I understand it, there might be an option with captive portal, but as we don't get the usual block/allow rules to work, for us NOOBs this solution is out of reach ;-)

You'd have to use Captive Portal + RADIUS accounting and then the RADIUS setup would handle the bandwidth tracking and long-term decisions.

              Well, that sound complicated!
