      pfsense 2.1.2 WAN configured as PPPoE
      Today I've got this error "ppp: OpenConfFile: Can't open file '/var/etc/mpd_wan.conf': No such file or directory". No connection, manually reconnected (via WebConfig).
      This is similar behavior as described here - https://forum.pfsense.org/index.php?topic=74172.0
      So it looks like the problem is not "solved", it just hides deeper.
      And as you can see in log, pf successfully reconnected before this error (several times).

        Same here.
        Started happening after I updated firewall to 2.1.3

        Current network "hardware" :
        Running 2.2RC in Virtualbox 4.2.16.

        Retired:
        ALIX2C2 , 4 gigabyte disk cf card running 2.0 (official release).

          Correct, this is NOT solved.

          I performed a new 2.1.3 install, guessing the upgrade/update went "something" wrong, but no.  The problem is still there even after a fresh 2.1.3 install.

          If you simulate (or force) a disconnecting from WAN, then PPPoE refuses to come out getting "ppp: OpenConfFile: Can't open file '/var/etc/mpd_wan.conf': No such file or directory" error.

            Has anyone found a solution for this?
            It's a real problem, sa sometimes ppp connection will fail, after days of working fine, and pfSense just won't reconnect…
