Need help setting up a pfsense repeating router squid proxy.
-
I have a levono thinkpad running pfsense with the ethernet port set as LAN and the ethernet cord connected to a linksys router to turn the LAN into a hotspot.I have a normal dlink router in my house and I want the WAN which is setup with my lenovos wifi card to act as a wireless repeater of the dlink. I made a this to help explain:
dlink–(wireless)--pfsense--(wired)--linksys--(wireless)--wifi hotspot
But what I need help with is setting up the WAN to do that.
If this is not possible I thought of another way that could would work. I could set the WAN to ethernet and have the linksys do the bridge part and have pfsense make the access point.
Here is a picture of my interfaces: http://oi58.tinypic.com/2d6m9hc.jpg
Thanks in advance for any help!

I guess it should work just by making "wpi0" WAN and then configuring WAN interface with the appropriate settings to connect to the Dlink SSID that is offering the "real" WiFi that goes to the internet. The ThinkPad then acts as a single client to the Dlink, but really has a whole "hotspot" of clients behind it.
Make em0 LAN, give it a private subnet different to that used by the Dlink, enabble DHCP to give out some addresses in that subnet.
Connect the LAN cable to a LAN port on the Linksys - making the Linksys be simply a device on the Thinkkpad/pfsense LAN.
Give the LinkSys a private IP in the LAN subnet, so you can manage it. Turn OFF DHCP on the Linksys - the hotspot clients on the Linksys need to get IP addresses, gateway… from pfSense LAN.
Then manage whatever rules/restrictions you like on pfSense. -
How would I go about configuring the WAN to connect to the dlink?
