      Hello,
We are searching an Atom-based solution for pfSense appliance and it seems that many of them are using Realtek RLT8111 based NICs.
This NIC is NOT in FreeBSD 8.1 HCL but it is in FreeBSD 8.3 HCL.
Can we suppose it is working in the actual version of pfSense? If not - when the support of this NIC could be added in the future version?
      Thank you,
      Peter

The 2.1 beta version is based on FreeBSD 8.3, and there have been reports of that NIC working there. You can get a snapshot of the beta from http://snapshots.pfsense.org/

A release for that is still a couple months away at the earliest, but it's stable enough that there are many people using it in production, especially for newer hardware.
