      Hi,

We are using pfsense 2.1.4. It has been running stable until we started using the IGMP service for our IPTV multicast. After turning on that function the whole box will crash about every 24 hours. Only a hard reset is possible to get it restored. The IGMP proxy is working as it should, mutlicast is working like we configured. For now we have stopped the IGMP proxy again and until now the box is running stable again without a crash.
I noteced that igmpproxy Version 0.1 beta2 is being used. According to sourceforge that version is from 2005. Can the igmpproxy be upgrade to Version 0.1? One of the comments in the Changelog is that it was fixed for FreeBSD 8.

On my fresh install of pfSense 2.1.5 (i386) nanoBSD will lock and crash when setting up IGMP Proxy. I have to end up reflash the CompactFlash and re-program it. IGMP Proxy is useless.

I get the following errors after bootup on console:

Fatal trap 12: page fault while in kernel mode
          cpuid = 0; apic id = 00
          fault virtual address   = 0x380
fault code              = supervisor read, page not present
          instruction pointer     = 0x20:0xc078b2ad
          stack pointer           = 0x28:0xe7325c6c
          frame pointer           = 0x28:0xe7325cc4
          code segment            = base 0x0, limit 0xfffff, type 0x1b
                                  = DPL 0, pres 1, def32 1, gran 1
processor eflags        = interrupt enabled, resume, IOPL = 0
          current process         = 55 (md1)
          trap number             = 12
          panic: page fault
          cpuid = 0
          Uptime: 55s
Cannot dump. Device not defined or unavailable.
Automatic reboot in 15 seconds - press a key on the console to abort
--> Press a key on the console to reboot,
--> or switch off the system now.

Thank you for sharing, can anyone else reproduce that failure on their hardware?

Yes i can reproduce the same problem on 2.1.5 on a normal i386 computer

when i activate the igmp proxy the modem of my isp (Swisscom) crashes with swisscom tv.

              sometimes the pfsense crashes too.

Very bad. Anyone with a solutions?

                same issue here
                pfsense 2.1.5 fesh install.
after many tests/reinstalls I isolated the issue to igmp proxy.
as soon I enable this the shell does not work any more most commands fails thinks like ls cp… etc

                to have the system back
1 boot on single user mode.
                2 mount a fat32 usb mount -t msdosfs /dev/da0s1 /mnt
                3 copy /conf/config.xml /mnt/config.xml
4 edit the file on the usb. (This is because I can't get the vi to work in single user mode. remove the section
5 copy the file back to the system. repeat step 2 and reverse 3

Reboot the system and it should be back alive without igmp proxy.

sorry there might me mistatakes since I'm new to pfsense and freebsd just a couple of weeks working with this.

please does any one know how to fix this igmpproxy issue. I could deal with all the other issues I have but without igmp proxy there is no iptv and I can't live with that.

                Regards.
