Two Mac Addresses, one hostname, one IP address?
-
Hi,
I've a laptop which I connect via a wireless AP, and occasioanlly a wired. Is there any way to link the two mac addresses, so they are both leased the same IP by the DHCP server?
Cheers,
Yax

In DHCP server you can add multiple entries with the same IP address and different MAC addresses as long as the names are different. This works for me: my laptop gets the same IP address regardless of whether I connect by wireless or wired interface.

Is that the only way? It creates static mappings, which cannot be inside the DHCP range. I was hoping to just tell it somehow that the two mac addresses should be treated as part of the same lease and let it do the rest.
