      Hi everyone,

I would like to know the limit of virtual network cards you can add on a PfSense VM. I know that Vmware allow 10.000.000 of virtual nics per VM (Vmware 5), but I don't find the limit of PfSense itself.

And is there a specific ammount of RAM needed per nic?

Thanks in advance for you help :-)

There is no specific limit. You can probably have as many NICs as you want but there is probably some noticeable overhead if you try to have a "large" number

Many NICs allocate a ring of buffers to hold received frames. Some NICs have a limit on the number of transmit frames they are prepared to queue. Some NICs allow the parameters to be tweaked. So the answer is "yes", but the number of bytes is not a single number applicable to all NICs.
