Just installed pfSense but having trouble getting on internet from LAN side
-
I just installed pfSense and went through set up and initially, I had my pfSense WAN connected to my Lynksis router which is connected to the Internet. I was testing internet connectivity with a client on the LAN side of pfSense and was able to get on the internet with that setup. So then I tried connecting pfSense directly to the Internet via the WAN interface (removing the Linksys and replacing it with pfSense). Now my LAN clients can not get internet like they could before. I am assuming that I need to put in a rule to allow that traffic, right? The only reason I dont think that's correct is because, before when I had the Linksys in the mix, LAN clients were able to access internet through pfSense without those rules..
So what exactly do I have to do to get it working??

What is your Internet? Cable modem? Is pfSense pulling a WAN IP address?
If CM, you need to power cycle it if you change the attached device and the MAC address is different.

LAN clients have access right out of the box. Check priller's suggestion and bounce your cablemodem.

Yeah I'm an idiot and didn't even think about the fact that the WAN needed to get a new public ip from my ISP. I gave it no time to do that and I'll try power cycling it when I get home. Thanks
